Happy Valentine’s Day! This day is usually the time when you reflect on your own love life. If you are single, you might be wondering why you are still (happily?) single. If you are in a relationship, you might be daydreaming about the perfect relationship. But for me, this is also a good time to celebrate with the family.
Let us remember not to take for granted people who are always there for us. We may sometimes think that their love is there since they have no choice. Because of this, we tend to forget that they are the ones we need to treasure the most since they love us even though we are not perfect.
As such, here are some ways we can show and celebrate the Day of Hearts with them:
- Take them out for lunch or dinner or if you can, cook for them;
- Give them simple, thoughtful gifts, such as flowers or food that they like; and
- Write them a card with a personalized message to remind them that they are loved and appreciated.
Another idea for this Valentine’s, although unconventional, is to get yourself an investment and insurance plan and letting your loved ones know about it. Why? Because loving someone is also thinking about how to secure their future. It will give them a peace of mind to think that no matter what happens to you, they will have an income for moving on. It is a long-term gift that can leave a mark long after you are gone. Otherwise, if you live long, the fund value will be used for your retirement.
Whatever way you choose to celebrate, have a memorable day and remember to thank the Lord our Heavenly Father for His love by sending His Son to die for our sins.
